Plc, is a leading provider of advanced imaging and detection
solutions using the latest in phosphor and scintillation technology.
Our extensive knowledge and expertise enables us to supply
a diverse range of application-focused products for both standard

AST has received the prestigious SPUR and SMART awards for
research projects into high performance x-ray imaging. The
SPUR (Support for Products under Review) project focussed
on the development of CsI;T1 based fibre optic detectors for
x-ray imaging. The SMART (Small Firms Merit Award for Research
and Technology) award was issued in 2001 following extensive
research into the processes to deposit columnar CsI:T1 on
large area active matrix flat panel imagers for high performance
digital medical x-ray imaging. The SMART scheme is highly
competitive and only provides funding to companies who show
outstanding innovation in new products and processes.
