Further Expansion At AST

Applied Scintillation Technologies (AST), a leading provider of advanced imaging and detection solutions using the latest in phosphor and scintillation technology, has announced the arrival of more new personnel at its Harlow UK headquarters.  This follows on from a recent expansion of the phosphor coating production team and establishment of a Product and Process development team.

New appointments include Eric Pittuck as Test and Measurement Engineer and Sam Ayres as Administrator.  Natalie Lowe has also been promoted to Office and Finance Manager.  Pittuck is a widely experienced senior research engineer with a broad range of skills in systems design, development, test, programming, electronic design and new product implementation.  His skills in software interfacing are currently being utilized to reprogram X-ray systems in the company’s new test facility.

Sales & Commercial Director, Stuart Quinn, commented: "The new appointments reflect the strong growth of AST in recent years.  2007 has been particularly successful, including a management buyout, the announcement that both orders and sales have exceeded £3M for the first time and a restructuring that sees sales in the US being handled directly from Harlow.  Although much of the initial investment has been in the specialist technical staff we need, the growth in business has also brought the need for increased administrative support".
