Academic Links
Applied Scintillation Technologies has a range of academic links with our technical staff originating from University College London (UCL), University of Strathclyde and Imperial College.
AST sponsor several doctorate programs in conjunction with UK Universities:
University College London, London Centre for Nanotechnology and the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. AST sponsor a PhD student working with Professor Richard Jackman and AST CEO Professor Glenn Tyrrell to develop graphene for technological applications.

University of Oxford Chemistry Department. AST sponsor a PhD student working with the John Foord Research Group run by Professor John Foord, focusing on nanomaterials.
University of Surrey Materials Institute AST employ two EngD students working on the company's commercial research priorities.
We also have student collaborations with Kings College London (KCL) and University College London (UCL).
Our contribution to the EU Fifth Framework programme on 3D-radiation imaging detectors (3D-RID) has involved collaboration with,

Since 2009 we have participated in the Harlow College Manufacturing and Engineering Apprenticeships scheme, hosting apprentices for 6 week periods. AST hosted one apprentice in 2009 and have since brought in two more apprentices full time alongside Ben Lee:

We have also been a participant in the annual Shell Technology Enterprise Programme (STEP) that encourages the use of high skill level undergraduates in business and technology environment.
