Beta-Rad for Beta Detection

In order to detect the weak beta signals produced by modern drug, protein and metabolic assays, particle size and deposition must be carefully controlled to ensure maximum surface area of scintillator is available to optimise sensitivity.

To this end AST use specially prepared materials, from anthracene - the benchmark material for beta detection - to size selected yttrium silicate and calcium fluoride powders.
